History

   In 1946 in Hamamatsu Japan, one person made company and named this company HONDA. His name is Honda Souichiro. When the war was ended and reconsturuction was started in Japan. HONDA is now big company and creates great kind of machines. In this week I introduce the history of this company.

   In beginning, Souichiro called in Fujisawa Takeo for manager. Souichiro is good at invention, but he isn't good at management. So Souichiro engage in president, but in manegement he rely on Takeo at all. At first, It's small company in town. It was a beginning of motorcycle production of HONDA improved a small engine for radio which used in the army. It's called "Batabata" and widely used. This is probably the first motorised bicycle in Japan. And after 1949, started developping motorbike. 1950s, some branchs are founded in Kanto region. 1952, the head office was moved to Tokyo from Hamamatsu to push forward nationwide development of the motorcycle sale. After head office transfared, there was the time when Honda occupied 70% of all industry production with cub F. Received stimulation in this, motorcycle makers more than 30 were born in Hamamatsu. 1958, Super cub was launched, and it's still popular now.

   HONDA entered the four-wheeled vehicle industry with T360 in 1963, And established a two-wheeled vehicle production base in European Belgium in the same year. It's the first product in the zone of Europe in Japanese car industry.

   HONDA is the company where an image made with the car which is sporty for performance serious consideration resists. However, announce the low pollution type engine called the CVCC engine in 1972. It was with the first which cleared exhaust gas regulation said to, "it was too severe, and could not clear it" in those days of America and gave the world car manufacturer a big shock.

   In 1982, HONDA started the local production of the four-wheeled vehicle in the United States which became first among a Japanese car manufacturer, and, in the development to the large-scale Japan foreign territory where it might be said with the copybook of the globalization of the Japanese company in these days.

 

 

   From early, as the company policy, it was formed emphasizing at motorsports. After that, Honda have entering many races. 1954,entered TT race in Man island. 1960, entered MotoGP. 1964, entered F1. 1994, IndyCar series. And 1994, entered SUPER GT. Wellknown Japanese circuit Suzuka was also constructed by HONDA in 1962.

   Not only a four-wheeled vehicle, a two-wheeled vehicle, the general-purpose product but also the production of solar panels and the development of the bipedal robot reach. First mass production robot "ASIMO" was famous for an opening bell of the New York Stock Exchange other than a human being for the first time.

 

 

 

   In addition, it is success for maiden flight of prototype "Honda Jet" becoming the first step to the entry to the plane industry which was the heart's desire of Soichiro at the end of 2003. HONDA announce the tie-up with GE by the industrialization of the engine for small jets on February 16, 2004. And establish Honda aircraft company in the United States in August, 2006 and build the production base for body delivery from 2010 in the Piedmont try ad international airport adjoining land in North Carolina Greensboro.
