Soichiro Honda who was the founder of HONDA, and was the president, his passion and sense for the manufacturing of genius were driving forces of the big development of HONDA. Then, how would be his personality?
Souichiro was born as the eldest son of the skilled blacksmith's of the Iwata, Shizuoka. He seemed to run after the car which came over to the neighborhood in the early childhood. He graduated from a high elementary school at 16 years old and went to Tokyo with the car repair company for apprenticeship. And, in postwar, He established Honda R & D to make "the Japan's world's best car". And he began with the donkey engine of the bicycle and started motorcycle production and developed real motorcycle, dream and a motorcycle boom was caused and grew rapidly. Super Cub of the release becomes 20 million output longtime seller product in 1958 in particular. HONDA participate in the international race of the motorcycle from 1959, and it is stepped forward in 1963 by long-cherished four-wheeled vehicle production. They participated in an F1 race from 1964 and made the name of "Honda" global. It was his long-time dream. And when "a company was not a thing of the whole families ," He retired himself from the president for 1,973 years, and the way of refreshing retirement came into the limelight.
In 1989, He achieved entering American car palace as a Japanese for the first time, but died by liver failure in August, 1991. He was 84 years old. The company funeral was not practiced for his intention. "Do not hold the company funeral. Because it is a company making a car, it must not become the traffic jam for a company funeral."
